Math/Chemistry with Todd

Eric is in Todd Lineback's Math/Chemistry Class

In math this year, we started off with review concepts such as how to graph a line. After we reviewed how to graph a line, we reviewed angles. After angles, we reviewed the concept of symmetry.

In chemistry this year we worked on review concepts such as the building blocks of matter, subatomic particles, Bohr Model Diagrams, and Quantam Mechanics. I grew a deeper understanding of Lewis Structures and Nutrients towards the end of our first semester, as we did our Diet Digest project on the Food Pyramid.

So far, my favorite demonstration would be the Hydrogen Balloon, brought to you by The Works toliet bowl cleaner.

We worked on our first project, the Missing Element poster. My element that I worked with was Helium. Click on the link to the right under recent projects to view my element poster and reflection.

On our second project, the Diet Digest, I workd with KJ to create a magazine article about the wonders of the Food Pyramid.

We started off the second semester with a Facebook project that tied into the Chemistry and Humanities curriculum. For the Chemistry portion of Faces of WW2, we worked in groups to create a Weapon's Webpage based on the weapon we were assigned. Our group researched Airplane Fuel and the chemical makeup of Octane in particular.

Our Exhibition project was Mad Chemistry, a tri-fold look into the wonders of Chemistry. My group's topic was Radiography/Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Our final project of the year was Globalization Across Borders: Drug Trade. In this project, I worked with KJ to create a brochure, molecular model, and interactive model on the drug diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

10th Grade Math/Chemistry was unique from the other classes I took. The fire alarm going off due to one of our labs was my favorite moment in school this year.
