Globalization Across Borders: The Drug Trade

This project is related to the Globalization Across Borders (Humanities) project.

In the drug project, my partner and I researched diphenhydramine aka Benadryl. We researched the drug and created three artifacts: a brochure, a structural model, and an interactive model.

We encountered minor problems during this project. For example, I didn’t find an organized delegation of the work. Most group projects I feel that I am being overworked; however, this time I felt that I was being underworked. Instead of doing all of the work, my partner liked doing a lot of the work and he took it upon himself to complete it at home, and then expected me to come to school above and beyond. I agree with his philosophy; however, I feel that there wasn't enough communication between my partner and I with regards to who was doing what and the timeline.

In my opinion, the work was satisfactory and warrented a B+ or an A. The brochure could have been done better, but with the time we had and the resources at our disposal I feel that we did a good job. I enjoyed the idea my partner had for the structural model, that it be made out of PEZ Candy. I learned about myself working on this peice. I learned that both my partner and I like to be leaders/in charge, as we both had leadership/organizational miscommunications. Also, I learned that I should never get a job that involves tubing, green goo, tic tac containers, and syringes.

If I had the oppurtunity to do this project over again, my main focus would be on the interactive model. I feel that it was rushed, and because of that doesn't look as good as it could. If I had more supplies (such as a motor or larger syringe), a lot of problems could have been avoided earlier and would have allowed for a better product sooner with time to spare to make enhancements to it. I will take this into consideration for future projects: to make sure I have adequete supplies as required by the project well in advance to allow for maximum work time.
